How Business Guardian was born
Two Dorset based companies have taken the initiative and teamed up to produce Business-Guardian, an all-in-one package to help new businesses. Philippa Turnbull and Bob McGuire, who both run businesses in Gillingham, Dorset, have put their individual expertise together after seeing the huge growth in both population and businesses particularly in the Gillingham and Shaftesbury area. They have also linked up with some local banks.
Bob McGuire has many years’ experience helping local businesses with their financial management. He also has strong ties with the banking industry and knows how to approach the banks for the appropriate support that a new business may need. He runs Hudson and Company, a leading practice of accountants in Dorset giving trusted advice to businesses and individuals.
Gillingham’s Software Matters has been operating for 13 years. They are a small friendly team who specialise in creating tailor-made computer solutions for businesses. The team is led by Philippa Turnbull, who started the business herself in 1994, so knows the important issues, and who spends her time understanding business problems and using computers to solve them.
